250 Words Or Less: College Topics

Amusement Park:
My favorite amusement park ride would probably be the roller coaster.
In all honesty, life terrifies me. Growing older, confronting college, grades, taxes, mortgages, the job process--- each time I ponder my future I am always confronted with the same feeling of nauseating fear and stress.
This, however, mirrors the rollercoaster as while the lulls in life are always stressful as I build to the next transition--- sending applications to college, receiving my next grade report, etcetera--- the actually meat of life--- meeting with friends, participating in a particularly engaging class, visiting colleges, dealing with family--- is, just like the downward turns of a rollercoaster, immensely enjoyable.

Meanwhile, with a family of seven, finding a range of dishes that the whole family would enjoy, including two especially picky younger siblings, for dinner was quite the hardship.
Therefore, seeing all the exotic and new foods available to be tried, hearing the rush of languages that were Mandarin, Cantonese, Russian, Vietnamese, Korean, Japanese, French, German, and more, was like a dream come true to a language buff and cooking enthusiast as myself.
My only regret was that I had decided to wait for my senior year to take Chinese due to a jam packed schedule. Curse my incessant need to take copious amounts of math…
